State Quarters (1999-Date): In 1999, the Mint began a ten year program intended to produce a unique design for each of the 50 States. There are five state designs minted every year from 1999-2009! From 2010 to 2021, five quarters will be released each year as part of the program honoring national parks and sites. These are authorized as per the conditions of the Americas Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008. The 50 States Quarters and Parks program is credited with bringing in millions of new collectors into the hobby of coin collecting!
