1794 Flowing Hair Half Dollar G Details NCS
Item #108641
1794 Flowing Hair Half Dollar G Details NCS
"G Details - Tooled, Reverse Graffiti" A pleasing example of this ultra-rare coin that has a full date along with all the major detail visible including ample hair detail for the grade. The surfaces are a lighter gray color, giving it an original look though hairlines can be found underneath from a past cleaning. Obverse has a few short, minor bag scratches, while reverse has some graffiti that resembles the letter 'W' etched into the field above the eagle's head, along with a couple pinpoint nicks at the top. A sharp G4 with some minor problems, but overall has a nice look. Housed in an older NCS holder, which was NGC's original holder for problem coins. Such an extremely scarce coin, and very tough to find at this low price level!
$2195.00
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar F Detail PCGS
Item #107962
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar F Detail PCGS
"F Detail - Graffiti" Handsome, original surfaces with pleasing gray color and nice surfaces. This is a sharp Fine, with ample hair detail and nicely struck that is comparable to many certified F15 and VF examples we have seen. There is graffiti etched on the cheek, with a series of short scratches making a uniform design. A small scuff and a couple faint scratches can be found on the reverse. Otherwise, this very scarce coin is a pleasing, problem free example! Lots of detail for the price on this vintage half dollar!
$1425.00
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar F15 NGC
Item #116113
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar F15 NGC
Lovely and original with deeper grey fields and lighter silvery grey color on the high points. Coin is nicely struck for this very early vintage coin with weakness only on the 'CA' in AMERICA on the reverse. Obverse has a few scattered hairlines along with a couple rim nicks. Reverse has a number of adjustment marks in the lower right portion of the reverse. These adjustment marks are visible scrapes on the planchet made prior to the coin being struck on that planchet. They were made to reduce the silver weight of the planchet if the planchet was overweight, and is commonly seen on these early vintage coins. Pleasing eye appeal on this scarce, early half that is housed in a problem free F15 NGC holder!
$2149.00
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar Fine 15 Details ANACS
Item #118893
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar Fine 15 Details ANACS
"Fine 15 Details - Repaired/Cleaned" Pleasing light to medium grey color with a subtle hint of color at the top left obverse rim. This is a sharp Fine example with lots of hair detail. Coin is well struck overall, with the normal weak eagle's left (facing) wing. Reverse has a few mint-made adjustment marks along the rim area around 1:00 and 2:30, not to be confused with scratches. Though coin has an original look, it was cleaned long ago and there is a small repair in the right obverse field adjacent to the nose/mouth area of Miss Liberty. This is the first U.S. Half Dollar design and only the second year of issue. A lovely example that has a problem free look, though priced at a big discount. Housed in an old, small ANACS holder. Greysheet is $2,350 in VF, $1,850 in F12 and even $1,200 in VG8!
$1349.00
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar VF Detail PCGS Gold Shield
Item #110415
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar VF Detail PCGS Gold Shield
"VF Detail - Tooled" Pleasing light to medium gray color with full VF detail. The eagle shows nice feather detail for the grade, as so often it is very weakly struck in this area. There are many mint-made adjustment marks around the obverse rim from 2:00 to 3:00, and 7:00 to 9:00, and on the reverse rim from 10:00 to 12:00, and 3:00 to 5:00. Adjustment marks were done before the coin was minted. In the late 1700's and early 1800's, the planchet was weighed, and often scraped with a file to bring it to the proper weight and silver content. The coin was then struck, though usually most of the adjustment marks will still be seen. These are often mistaken for scratches, as they have a similar look, though usually run in a very parallel pattern. This coin also has a few light scratches in the central area of the obverse, which accounts for the "Tooled" designation given by PCGS. Greysheet is $2,350 in VF and $1,850 in F12. A great deal on this very scarce Flowing Hair Half Dollar that we rarely see!
$1795.00
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar VG8 NGC
Item #117838
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar VG8 NGC
Pleasing lighter grey color with nice surfaces and all the major detail visible. This scarce issue is only the second year of the Half Dollar, and a very low mintage issue though much affordable than the 1794. Problem free examples are tough to find, particularly with nice surfaces and eye appeal! O-105
$1375.00
1801 Draped Bust Half F Detail PCGS Gold Shield
Item #118159
1801 Draped Bust Half F Detail PCGS Gold Shield
"F Detail - Damage" A solid F12 with medium grey color and all detail clear. From arm's length coin appears to have some porosity, though with closer inspection there are a myriad of tiny bubbles in the planchet, which are spread throughout the coin on both sides. Our guess is that the coin was exposed to heat at one time, which can cause this appearance. A very scarce, early date with a mere 30,289 ever minted! Greysheet is $1,850 in F12, $1,300 in VG8 and even $800 in G4!
$895.00

Item #115094
1805 Draped Bust Half XF45 NGC
A lovely, original specimen with sharp detail and golden grey toning on the obverse center with some deep, blue grey toning around the rim. Reverse is fully toned in deep gun-metal grey toning. A tough coin to find, especially a lovely, problem free example like this one!

1806 Bust Half XF Details NGC Pt. 6, No Stems
Item #110737
1806 Bust Half XF Details NGC Pt. 6, No Stems
"XF Details, Improperly Cleaned" Pointed 6, No Stems, O-109. An XF example of the Draped Bust/Heraldic Eagle design. One of the most beautiful designs that graced vintage coins. A little gold toning on the peripheries and traces of lustre in some of the recesses. The old cleaning has toned back giving it a natural appearance.
$849.00
1806 Draped Bust Half AU50 PCGS Gold Shield
Item #112499
1806 Draped Bust Half AU50 PCGS Gold Shield
Obverse has impressive brilliant luster in the center with lovely original gun metal blue toning around the peripheries. Reverse is fully toned in medium grey tones with some light blue shades on the right rim area. Coin is nicely struck for this year with beautiful eye appeal. It is very tough to find this early date in a problem free holder, as so many have been cleaned or have problems. A delightful example of this scarce date! Pointed 6, Stems
$2195.00
1806/5 Bust Half AU Detail PCGS Gold Shield
Item #117234
1806/5 Bust Half AU Detail PCGS Gold Shield
"AU Detail - Cleaned Overton 103 Large Stars" Has a very original look with light grey centers and deeper grey around the peripheries of both sides. The surfaces are surprisingly nice with very clean fields, only a few tiny marks in the lower left obverse field. Obverse is well struck except a bit of softness at the lowest hair curl and the first two stars. Reverse is sharp overall, though is weakly struck on the upper left wing and eagle's head, along with the clouds and a few of the stars. This area is often weakly struck on these vintage Bust Halves. The cleaning is nearly indiscernible, as there are no hairlines or obvious signs of a cleaning. This scarce overdate is offered at a huge discount off the AU Greysheet price of $4,000, and even the $2,000 XF price!
$1695.00

Item #109315

"AU55 Details - Cleaned" This scarce coin has a lovely medium gray patina with slightly deeper color on the obverse, and lighter golden gray color on the reverse. Though there are no visible hairlines, coin was very lightly cleaned most likely decades ago, and has since toned back to a very natural color. Probably more of an AU50, though coin is well struck showing sharp hair detail, as well as full breast feathers, wing and shield detail on the reverse. Nice eye appeal on this exciting coin that is so rare, especially in this higher grade! Greysheet is $3,150 in AU55!
