Heavy Motto. This date is scarce in MS, and rare in Gem BU. Mark free and fully struck. Original colors in the lustre on both sides.

No Stars. A short lived, and scarce, type coin that has always reminded me of a pattern. Nice frosty lustre. Looks original, but there are some very light micro-hairlines if examined with magnification.

Our grade and description: XF40/45, Traces of a Lt. old cleaning has retoned to a natural gray. Rare key date with only 129,950 minted! A few dots tooled in below beak. An XF40 Bids for $2,550. (AU Bid is $6,000).

Lightly cleaned, probably to remove toning, and let the natural lustre show. A semi-key date, and reduced to F12 Bid!

When there is a new mint error, it is difficult to know if rolls or bags of the error will turn up. This one has been around for 19 years, and has turned out to be quite rare. Brilliant spotless example in high grade.
