1909 VDB Lincoln Cent Roll G4-XF
Item #88087

1909 VDB Lincoln Cent Roll G4-XF
A 50 coin roll of 1909 VDB Lincoln cents. The designer's initials, VDB, are prominently displayed at the lower reverse, just above the rim. The initials were larger than any other U.S. coin. Complaints about the size led to the initials being deleted altogether. The coin had no initials on it until 1918, when a minute VDB was added to the lower shoulder of Lincoln. Most need a magnifier to see the initials. The 1909 VDB has been in demand since 1909 as a date. a one year Type coin, and a unique part of numismatic history. This date is fascinating and will always be in demand. A check of this roll shows 50 VDB Lincolns. Grades run from G4 to XF40, with most of them F-VF. There will always be some minor flaws in a roll, but we removed and replaced coins that were off color or had more obvious flaws. In G4 grades this one Bids for $10. Some are G4, a few XF40, but the vast majority are F-VF. We figured this roll at 20% below G4 Bid! An easy roll to break up and sell individually for a big profit!
$400.00
