The Lafayette Dollar is a scarce coin in all grades. It is usually seen in VF-AU grades, with most of them cleaned. This issue is usually seen with dark toning, even in MS grades. This one is the nicest example, with the best eye appeal, that we've had for sale in years. A superb coin with shimmering creamy white lustre, that has to be in the top 10% for eye appeal. Even though an extra nice example like this often realizes runaway auction prices, we have it at the regular price for the grade.

Item #89430

1837 Illustrious Predecessor Hard Times Token MS63 BN PCGS
HT-33. The popular 'I follow in the footsteps of my illustrious predecessors', with the donkey and turtle. This variety is often seen in VG-XF, but rarely seen in MS grades. For a 'Brn' coin, there is quite a bit of red. Not enough for a RB designation, but it has red lustre around the protected areas, and this adds a lot to the eye appeal! A beautiful mark free example of this Hard Times token.

Item #94125

1800 Draped Bust Dollar VF Details PCGS (Dotted Date Variety)
'VF Details Damage PCGS Dotted Date' Lovely original gray color and nicely struck. The damage consists of a small nick behind Miss Liberty's head. This is about the least severe 'Damage' that can be on a coin and still get the notation on the holder. This is the rare 'Dotted Date' variety that shows a larger dot below the first '0' in the date as well as two smaller dots above the date, and two inside of the loop. These dots are from die rust, and do not show on early die states. This variety is very scarce with only an estimate of 700 specimens exist in all grades!! This would normally sell for about $2,800. An opportunity to get a big discount on this one for one small nick!

SD. Upper end AU detail and a strong even strike that allows every little curl to show. Glossy chocolate brn surfaces that are extremely attractive.
